UDA Hands Samuel Muchina Nyagah Ticket Ahead of High-Stakes Ol Kalou By-Election




United Democratic Alliance has officially handed its nomination certificate to Samuel Muchina Nyagah after he emerged victorious in the party primaries for the upcoming Ol Kalou Constituency parliamentary by-election scheduled for July 16, 2026.

Muchina Nyagah secured 3,221 votes in a closely contested nomination exercise, narrowly defeating his closest challenger George Wambugu Kanuri, who garnered 3,077 votes during the primaries conducted across the constituency.

Speaking shortly after receiving the nomination certificate, Muchina Nyagah thanked the UDA leadership and residents of Ol Kalou for the confidence they had shown in him.
He pledged to run an issue-based campaign centered on development, unity, and addressing the key concerns affecting residents of the constituency.

“I am grateful to the party and the people of Ol Kalou for this opportunity. My focus now is to engage wananchi and offer leadership that prioritizes development and service delivery,” he said.

UDA Secretary General Omar Hassan Omar expressed confidence in the ruling party’s chances in the upcoming mini-polls.

The Secretary General said UDA was fully prepared for the Ol Kalou by-election and remained optimistic about retaining the seat.

He added that the party was also keenly focused on the upcoming Emurua Dikirr parliamentary by-election, which will be held on the same day, saying UDA was determined to strengthen and expand its political influence through the two contests.

The Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election is expected to draw significant political attention in the coming weeks as parties intensify campaigns ahead of the crucial vote.
