By Irene

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has confirmed its preparedness to conduct the Repeat Phase III Grassroots Elections scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, across 18 counties.
Speaking ahead of the exercise, UDA Secretary General  Hassan Omar said the party has finalized logistical and technological arrangements to ensure a smooth, transparent, and credible election process.

The repeat elections will take place in Kiambu, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Embu, Meru, Samburu, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Baringo, Laikipia, Kericho, Bomet, and Vihiga counties.

According to the party, more than 500,000 candidates have registered to contest for 20 grassroots leadership positions at the polling centre level. The positions will represent various groups including women, youth, special interest groups, farmers, religious representatives, professionals, and MSMEs/traders.

The elections are expected to attract approximately 8 million voters across 8,819 polling centres in the participating counties.

To enhance transparency and efficiency, the party has deployed technology throughout the process, with about 9,000 electronic voting tablets distributed to polling centres to facilitate the voting exercise and results transmission. UDA noted that the election results will be made publicly accessible through its official website.
Voting will begin at 8:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM, after which the results will be processed.

The exercise is expected to produce about 150,000 elected grassroots officials, who will form the party’s grassroots leadership structure and carry a direct mandate from members.

The UDA leadership has urged members to turn out in large numbers and participate peacefully in the exercise as the party continues to strengthen its internal democratic processes.
