In the aftermath of the devastating floods that have ravaged Isiolo County, leaving behind a trail of destruction and despair.
Mwenda Thuranira’s Myspace Foundation has stepped up in solidarity with affected communities. The floods, which have displaced families, destroyed homes, and disrupted lives, also claimed the vehicle of MCA Lemantile in a tragic incident that underscores the severity of the disaster.
As local residents grapple with loss and uncertainty, Myspace Foundation, under the leadership of Mwenda Thuranira, has expressed deep concern over the County Government’s inadequate disaster preparedness and response. The foundation has highlighted the critical gaps—lack of early warning systems, insufficient emergency shelters, and poor drainage infrastructure—as key contributors to the escalating impact of such natural calamities.
“Myspace Foundation stands with the people of Isiolo in this trying time,” said Mwenda Thuranira.
“We are not only offering our heartfelt prayers but also taking immediate action to support those most vulnerable, especially children whose education is now at risk.” he added
The foundation has pledged to provide school uniforms and essential learning materials to help ensure that education continues despite the upheaval. Thuranira also made a passionate appeal to the County Government to take responsibility and act swiftly in aiding affected families.
He further called on the National Government and humanitarian organizations to deliver urgent relief, including food, medicine, clean water, and disease prevention supplies. “Now more than ever, we need collective action, compassion, and unwavering commitment to help rebuild lives,” Thuranira added.
With communities still reeling from the destruction, Myspace Foundation remains on standby, ready to assist and advocate for a coordinated, sustainable response to prevent such tragedies in the future.
