Moses Budamba Mudavadi, the eldest son of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, has officially stepped into the political arena after declaring his intention to contest the Westlands parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election. Budamba will seek the position on a ticket of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), signaling the continuation of the Mudavadi family’s long-standing involvement in Kenyan politics.


His entry into the race for the Westlands constituency seat in Nairobi is already drawing attention from political observers, given his family’s deep roots in the country’s leadership. 

Budamba’s bid is expected to energize the political landscape in Westlands as parties begin early positioning ahead of the 2027 elections. Supporters say his entry represents a new generation of leadership, while critics will likely scrutinize whether the move reflects the growing influence of political dynasties in Kenyan politics.
