Moses Budamba Mudavadi, the eldest son of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, has announced his intention to vie for the Westlands parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election, marking the beginning of his journey into national politics. Budamba will seek the seat on a ticket of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

The youthful aspirant is positioning himself as part of a new generation of leaders ready to champion innovative ideas, inclusive development, and youth empowerment.

His decision to contest the Westlands constituency seat in Nairobi has generated excitement among supporters who believe his leadership could bring renewed energy and progressive thinking to the constituency.

With a background shaped by exposure to public service and national leadership through his father, Musalia Mudavadi, Budamba says he is keen to focus on issues affecting urban constituencies, including job creation for young people, improved infrastructure, and stronger support for entrepreneurs and small businesses.

As political alignments gradually take shape ahead of the 2027 elections, Budamba’s entry into the race is seen by supporters as a promising step toward nurturing a new crop of leaders committed to driving development and strengthening representation for the people of Westlands.
