The party leader of the National Liberal Party, Hon. Augustus Muli, has expressed gratitude to the leadership of the International Alliance of Libertarian Parties (IALP) following his appointment as the organization’s Regional Vice Chair for Africa.
In remarks after the announcement, Muli described the appointment as a great honour and a significant responsibility in advancing liberal democratic ideals across the continent.
“I sincerely thank the leadership of the International Alliance of Libertarian Parties for the confidence and trust placed in me following my appointment as Regional Vice Chair for Africa. It is a great honour to serve in this role, and I look forward to working with colleagues to strengthen liberal democratic values, cooperation, and progress across the African continent,” he said.
The new role places Muli at the forefront of efforts to promote collaboration among liberal political movements in Africa while advocating for governance systems anchored on democracy, human rights, and economic freedom.
The International Alliance of Libertarian Parties is a global network that brings together liberal political parties and leaders committed to advancing democratic governance, individual freedoms, and international cooperation.
Muli noted that his appointment provides an opportunity to deepen partnerships among African liberal parties while contributing to policy discussions that address governance, economic development, and democratic consolidation across the region.
Political observers say the appointment is a recognition of Muli’s growing influence within liberal political networks and could elevate the profile of the National Liberal Party within global democratic forums.
