Mwenda Thuranira Commends Government’s Security Efforts in Isiolo

By Irene Mwende
Business leader and incoming Isiolo North Member of Parliament Mwenda Thuranira has expressed sincere appreciation to Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen for his recent visit to Isiolo County, praising the national government’s active involvement in addressing insecurity in the region.

Speaking during recent remarks, Thuranira thanked the Cabinet Secretary for what he described as a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to restoring peace and safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He noted that the visit signaled strong leadership and a hands-on approach to resolving persistent security challenges affecting the county.

However, Thuranira emphasized that security is not solely the responsibility of the government. He called on residents to recognize that lasting peace begins within the community itself. He urged citizens to remain vigilant, identify and report criminal elements, and cooperate fully with relevant security agencies.

“Security starts with us,” he said, encouraging unity, trust, and collective responsibility among residents. He stressed that through cooperation between the community and the government, the fight against crime can be won decisively.

Thuranira concluded by reiterating that sustainable peace requires shared accountability. With solidarity and active civic participation, he said, Isiolo can overcome insecurity and build a safer environment for all.
