MP Vincent Kawaya Joins President Ruto at NYOTA Start-Up Capital Launch to Empower Youth in Lower Eastern

Mwala Member of Parliament Vincent Kawaya on Tuesday joined President William Samoei Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki during the official launch of the NYOTA Start-Up Capital disbursement for Machakos, Kitui and Makueni counties.
The colourful ceremony was held at Machakos Kenyatta Stadium and brought together national and county leaders, youth representatives, entrepreneurs and development stakeholders from across the Lower Eastern region.
Speaking during the event, kawaya reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering young people through targeted financial support, skills development and access to business opportunities. He emphasized that the NYOTA programme is a key pillar of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, aimed at enabling youth-led enterprises to grow and create sustainable jobs.
Mwala MP Vincent Kawaya welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention for the youth of Machakos, Kitui and Makueni counties. He said the NYOTA Start-Up Capital programme will play a critical role in addressing unemployment, fostering entrepreneurship and enhancing financial independence among young people.
“The programme aims at giving the youth business opportunities, creating jobs and offering financial empowerment among our young people,” said Kawaya. “This is how we unlock the potential of our youth and secure the future of our region.”
The NYOTA Start-Up Capital programme is expected to benefit thousands of young entrepreneurs, providing them with seed capital and support to start or expand their businesses, ultimately contributing to economic growth and social transformation in the region.
