Mp Charles Nguna Calls for Stronger Parliament–Olympic Collaboration During NOC-K Visit



Hon. Charles Nguna Ngusya, MP for Mwingi West and Vice Chairman of the Parliamentary Sports Committee, paid a courtesy call to the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K), where he met with the 1st Deputy President, Mr. Barnaba Korir. The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment between Parliament and the Olympic Movement to advance the growth and governance of sport in Kenya.

During the meeting, discussions centered on the importance of closer collaboration in strengthening sports development frameworks, enhancing athlete welfare, and providing robust policy and legislative support for sport. Both parties emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to address emerging challenges facing athletes, federations, and sports institutions across the country.

The engagement highlighted a common vision of creating a sustainable and enabling environment where Kenyan athletes can thrive both on and off the field. Through continued partnership, Parliament and NOC-K aim to reinforce Kenya’s sporting ecosystem and safeguard the future of sport at all levels.
