Senator Kavindu Calls for Swift Compensation of 1998 Bomb Blast Victims

Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu has renewed calls for justice and compensation for the victims of the 1998 bomb blast, urging President H.E. the President and the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs to treat the matter with utmost urgency.

Speaking during Senate proceedings   Senator Kavindu emphasized that the survivors and families affected by the tragedy have waited far too long for meaningful action. She stressed that the emotional, physical, and economic scars left behind by the attack demand a serious and immediate response from the government.

“The 1998 bomb blast victims must be compensated,” Senator Kavindu stated firmly. “I strongly urge His Excellency the President and the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs to prioritize this matter with the seriousness it deserves. Justice delayed is justice denied.”

Her remarks were met with support from community members and human rights advocates who have long pushed for closure and compensation for the tragedy’s survivors. As pressure mounts, all eyes are now on the government to determine its next steps in addressing the long-standing issue.
