Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu stepped forward to receive her certificate at McGill University, Canada—marking the completion of an intensive leadership programme designed to advance parliamentary practices, gender equality, and women’s empowerment.

For Senator Kavindu, the graduation was more than just an academic achievement; it was a testament to her enduring commitment to public service and her dedication to uplifting women both within Kenya and across the globe.
The programme, renowned for its rigorous curriculum and global perspective, brought together parliamentarians and policymakers from various regions, equipping them with advanced skills in legislative procedures, gender mainstreaming, and inclusive governance. Throughout the course, Senator Kavindu distinguished herself as a passionate advocate for equity and transformative leadership.



“Completing this training is a great honour,” she said. “It has significantly strengthened my capacity in parliamentary engagement, especially in areas that directly impact women and marginalized groups. I am excited to apply the knowledge gained to further enrich our legislative processes and champion gender equality more effectively.”
