Makueni Unites for Inclusion: Hon. Rose Museo Champions Dignity and Equality on International Day of Persons with Disabilities”

Makueni women rep Hon Rose Museo gathered in solidarity to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), an occasion that carries profound meaning across the globe. This year’s theme—“Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress”—resonated deeply as leaders, families, advocates, and persons with disabilities came together to celebrate resilience, diversity, and the power of inclusion.

Hon. Rose Museo, the Makueni County Women Representative, delivered heartfelt remarks that stirred both reflection and hope. Standing before the community, she emphasized that disability should never be viewed as a limitation but as a vital part of humanity’s rich and diverse tapestry. “When we create space for every individual to be seen, supported, and empowered,” she said, “we move closer to becoming the society we aspire to be—one rooted in justice, dignity, and equal opportunity.”

Her words echoed across the gathering, inspiring renewed commitment among stakeholders to break barriers that hinder full participation of persons with disabilities. She highlighted ongoing county efforts to strengthen support systems, enhance accessibility, and promote inclusive policies, underscoring that true progress is only possible when no one is left behind.

Throughout the event, stories of determination and courage were shared—teachers ensuring accessible classrooms, community groups championing assistive devices, and families whose everyday acts of love and advocacy continue to redefine inclusion at the grassroots.

As the celebrations came to a close, Hon. Museo called upon all residents of Makueni to embrace inclusion not just as a slogan, but as a daily practice. “Let us build communities where dignity is the foundation of our shared progress,” she concluded. “Because when every person thrives, our entire county rises.”

The day ended with a renewed sense of unity—an affirmation that Makueni County stands committed to championing the rights, dreams, and limitless potential of persons with disabiity
