The roar of the crowd echoed across the Kampala Stadium as Hon. Vincent Kaway surged across the finish line, arms raised in triumph. It was a moment of pure brilliance—one that marked not only another gold medal, but the continuation of a legacy five years in the making.

Kawaya a celebrated athlete within the parliamentary fraternity, dazzled spectators at the ongoing East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games in Kampala, Uganda. With unmatched speed and precision, he clinched gold in both the fiercely contested 100-metre dash and the electrifying 4 × 100-metre relay, reaffirming his dominance on the track.

In the relay, it was teamwork and trust that carried the baton home. Kawaya  anchored the squad, taking the final handover with the weight of expectation and transforming it into another golden moment. As he completed the last stretch, the stadium erupted, celebrating both the win and the spirit of unity the Games embody.

Speaking after his double victory, Hon. Kawaya expressed heartfelt gratitude.

“It is a great honour to fly our flag high and represent our Parliament with pride on the track,” he said, beaming with the satisfaction of a champion. “I remain grateful for the support and encouragement from all of you, and I look forward to continuing to give my best in the remaining events.”
