 Somali businesswoman Naima Elmi is making waves at the 24th East African Community (EAC) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Trade Fair, where she is proudly exhibiting her locally made products that reflect Somalia’s rich entrepreneurial spirit and cultural heritage.

Representing Somalia’s growing community of women entrepreneurs, Naima Elmi is showcasing a range of handmade goods, traditional textiles, and natural beauty products sourced and produced sustainably within the country. Her booth has attracted visitors and buyers from across the region, highlighting the potential of Somali enterprises in regional trade and economic integration.

“This event is not just about selling products; it’s about connecting cultures, sharing ideas, and creating opportunities,” Elmi said. “I’m proud to represent Somali women in business and to show that we are ready to compete and collaborate at the regional level.”

The 25th EAC MSMEs Trade Fair, which brings together exhibitors from all seven EAC partner states, aims to promote cross-border trade, innovation, and inclusive economic growth.
