Rosemary Okutu Launches Bid for ODM Nairobi Women’s Chair, Vows to Restore Dignity and Recognition

In a bold and passionate declaration, Hon. Rosemary Okutu has announced her candidacy for the Nairobi ODM Women’s League chairlady position, promising to restore dignity, recognition, and renewed purpose to the party’s loyal women delegates.

Speaking to an energized crowd of ODM women delegates and supporters, Okutu decried years of neglect and sidelining, stating that women in the party have long been the backbone of grassroots mobilization yet remain underappreciated.

> “The time for silence is over. I am not just another leader but a servant of the people—a daughter of Nairobi who feels your pain, hears your cries, and carries your dreams in her heart,” she declared, drawing loud applause.

Okutu emphasized that under her leadership, the ODM Nairobi Women’s League would be transformed into a vibrant and inclusive platform where every woman feels seen, heard, and empowered.

She also made an emotional appeal to re-establish strong connections between the women’s wing and Dr. Mama Ida Odinga, a long-standing figure of inspiration for the party’s women.

> “Many of our women feel forgotten. But I am here to say—you are not forgotten. You matter. You deserve a seat at the table, and I will fight for that seat,” Okutu said.

Promising a new dawn in ODM’s women leadership, she outlined her vision of unity, empowerment, and recognition—urging women to rise together and claim their rightful place in the party’s future.

> “Hope has a name—Hon. Rosemary Okutu,” she concluded, calling on all ODM women in Nairobi to rally behind her for a fresh, people-centered leadership.

As the race for leadership heats up, Okutu’s bid signals a shift in Nairobi’s ODM women politics—one driven by the voice of the grassroots and anchored in a promise of dignity and genuine service.
