Rosemary Okuta's Candidacy for Nairobi ODM Chairlady Galvanizes Women Across the Capital

A wave of excitement and unity is sweeping through the capital as the ODM Women League officially endorses Rosemary Okuta for the position of Nairobi County Chairlady. The endorsement marks a significant moment for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), as women from across Nairobi rally behind a leader known for her tireless dedication, grassroots activism, and unwavering commitment to empowering communities.

Support has surged from constituencies including Ruaraka, Westlands, Embakasi, and Dagoretti, where women are mobilizing in large numbers to campaign for Okuta’s candidacy. At a recent community gathering in Ruaraka, one ODM member praised Okuta's contributions to the party:
“Rosemary Okuta has been a pillar in ODM, always at the forefront of mobilizing women and promoting grassroots empowerment. Her leadership will bring much-needed unity and focus to Nairobi women.”

A long-time advocate for social justice and women's rights, Okuta has spent years building networks that support economic empowerment, mentorship, and political inclusion. Her leadership style, described by supporters as "inclusive, accessible, and action-oriented," has made her a beloved figure in Nairobi’s grassroots political landscape.

“She understands our struggles. She listens. She's one of us,” said a supporter from Westlands, echoing a sentiment shared by many at the community level.

Okuta’s campaign is built around a message of unity, mentorship, and deeper grassroots engagement—principles she believes are key to revitalizing ODM’s presence and purpose in Nairobi. With the ODM Women League’s strong backing and growing momentum on the ground, many view her as the clear frontrunner heading into the party’s upcoming elections.

As ODM continues to strengthen its internal leadership structures, Rosemary Okuta’s candidacy represents more than a political contest—it symbolizes a renewed chapter for women’s leadership within the party and across Nairobi County.
