Rosemary Okuta Rises: ODM Nairobi Chairlady Hopeful Vows to Empower Women and Unite the Grassroots

Nairobi, Kenya — As the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) readies itself for crucial internal elections, one name is generating significant buzz across Nairobi's political landscape—Rosemary Okuta.

A respected voice in community development and a seasoned leader in grassroots politics, Okuta has officially declared her candidacy for ODM Nairobi Chairlady, sending a powerful message of transformation, inclusion, and unity.

In a recent public address that has since gained wide attention, Okuta unveiled an ambitious and people-centered agenda aimed at reshaping the party's approach to leadership—particularly when it comes to women and the grassroots.

“If elected, I will work to ensure ODM women across Nairobi are not just seen but heard and supported,” she said. “Women are the backbone of this party, and it’s time they feel the impact of leadership that understands and champions their needs.”

Her blueprint for empowerment includes launching targeted capacity-building programs, creating mentorship opportunities for young women in politics and business, and facilitating greater access to funding for women-led small enterprises.

During a spirited live radio appearance, Okuta's message resonated deeply with listeners. Callers flooded the phone lines with endorsements, applauding her clarity of purpose and genuine grassroots connection. “She understands our struggles,” one caller said. “We need leaders like her who speak with action, not just words.”

But Okuta’s vision doesn’t stop at women’s empowerment. She has pledged to collaborate closely with women-led and community-based organizations to tackle long-standing issues in Nairobi, including unemployment, gender-based violence, and unequal access to healthcare and education—especially in the county’s underserved neighborhoods.

“A stronger party begins with strong communities,” Okuta emphasized. “I will work with all party members to ensure no voice is left out and no region is left behind.”

As internal elections approach, Rosemary Okuta is emerging as more than just a candidate—she is becoming a symbol of change and hope for ODM Nairobi. With her blend of experience, empathy, and strategic vision, she is making a compelling case for leadership that reflects the people it serves.

If elected, Okuta would not only be breaking ground as a leader but also setting the tone for a new chapter in ODM's journey—one driven by unity, empowerment, and grassroots transformation.
