Mwala MP Vincent Kawaya Crowned Ukambani Kingpin by Kamba Elders

Mwala Member of Parliament Vincent Kawaya has been officially crowned by Kamba elders as the new Ukambani kingpin, in a colourful cultural ceremony that drew thousands of residents and leaders from across the region.

The event, was marked by traditional rites, blessings, and the presentation of symbolic regalia — including a beaded staff and a leopard-skin cloak — signifying leadership, unity, and the responsibility to champion the interests of the Kamba community.

Speaking after his coronation, MP Kawaya expressed deep gratitude to the elders for entrusting him with the mantle of leadership, pledging to unite Ukambani and steer it towards economic growth, political stability, and social empowerment.

"This honour is not about me alone; it is about our people’s shared vision for prosperity and dignity. I will work tirelessly to ensure Ukambani has a strong voice at the national table," Kawaya said.

The elders described Kawaya as a dedicated leader who has demonstrated integrity, vision, and the ability to mobilise resources for community development. They urged the people of Ukambani to rally behind him in pursuit of unity and progress.

Political analysts say the coronation could reshape the region’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general election, positioning Kawaya as a key figure in both local and national politics.
