Mwala MP Vincent Kawaya has lauded the Kenya Kwanza Administration for its commitment to youth empowerment through the ongoing construction of a state-of-the-art sports academy in Mbiuni, Machakos County.

Speaking during an inspection tour of the site in Mbiuni Ward, Kawaya said the facility marks a transformative investment in local sports and community development.
The academy will feature modern amenities including a running track, football pitch, volleyball court, changing rooms, washrooms, a well-designed driveway, ample parking, and a comprehensive foul water drainage system.

“This is not just about sports—it’s about creating opportunities, nurturing talent, and promoting healthy lifestyles among our youth,” Kawaya stated. He added that the facility is expected to uplift local sportsmen while also stimulating social and economic growth in the area.

The sports academy, once completed, is set to become a hub for talent development and a source of pride for the community.
