Council Member Aseso Omollo Champions Transparency in Legal Sector at LSK Annual Conference

At the 2025 Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Annual Conference, Council Member Aceso “Awesome” Omollo delivered a compelling presentation on the assessment of money laundering and terrorism financing risks facing legal professionals.

Speaking with trademark clarity and conviction, Omollo highlighted the need for vigilance within the legal profession, noting that the credibility of lawyers depends on their ability to uphold integrity in all transactions.

“In the past, the LSK was perceived as a distant institution,” Omollo told the packed audience. “Under this Council, we have made it visible, credible, and responsive. We’ve shown up, spoken out, taken action — and we’ve done it with clarity, compassion, and courage.”

Delegates applauded his call for stronger internal safeguards, collaborative intelligence sharing, and professional accountability to ensure the legal sector remains a trusted pillar in the fight against illicit financial activities.

With his inspiring address, “Awesome” Omollo cemented his role as a leading voice for reform, earning both the respect and admiration of his peers.

These bills, nine in total, are seen as a direct threat to Kenya’s food security and sovereignty, and the movement warns they could have devastating consequences for the country’s agricultural sector, which contributes over 80% to the nation’s GDP. RTI, one of the country’s oldest institutions, provides specialized and affordable training in rail transportation, a key pillar of Kenya’s infrastructure development.
