United Democratic Alliance (UDA) officially presented Misi Mutua as its flagbearer for the upcoming Mumbuni North Ward by-election. The colourful unveiling ceremony attracted hundreds of enthusiastic residents and was presided over by Mwala MP Hon. Vincent Musyoka Kawaya, who served as the chief guest.
Hon. Kawaya urged the people of Mumbuni North to rally behind the UDA candidate, describing Mutua as a dedicated leader with a strong record of community service. He affirmed that the ruling party had great confidence in Mutua’s ability to deliver meaningful development, foster unity, and represent the ward with integrity.
In his acceptance speech, Misi Mutua pledged to focus on service delivery, improved infrastructure, and youth empowerment. He assured residents that his leadership would be people-centered and anchored on transparency. “I am deeply humbled by the trust placed in me by the UDA family and the people of Mumbuni North. I promise to work tirelessly to meet your expectations,” he said.
A significant highlight of the event was the show of unity when Job Nyumu Solomon, who had earlier expressed interest in the seat, stepped down in favour of Mutua. Nyumu publicly declared his support and pledged to actively campaign for him, a gesture widely applauded as an act of selflessness and maturity.
Residents who attended the unveiling expressed optimism, praising UDA’s consultative and unifying approach in selecting their candidate. Many described Mutua’s candidature as a symbol of hope for better representation and accelerated development in the ward.
The Mumbuni North by-election is shaping up to be hotly contested, with Misi Mutua set to face off against Wiper Party’s Antony Kisoi and Maendeleo Chap Chap’s Harrison.
