Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna Stands Firm on Support for Gachagua Impeachment Motion, Says He Won't Be Swayed

As the political landscape in Kenya continues to shift, one legislator from Mwingi West has firmly declared his unwavering position on a contentious issue. Charles Nguna, the Member of Parliament for Mwingi West, has vowed to remain steadfast in his support for the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Nguna, a prominent figure within the region, emphasized that he had already committed to his decision and would not be swayed, despite mounting pressures from various quarters.

Speaking confidently ahead of the anticipated voting session scheduled for Tuesday, Nguna noted that he had already signed in favor of the impeachment before the party's leadership or any other political maneuvering could influence his stance. "I will finish my business of voting on Tuesday, and I am not changing my position," Nguna affirmed in a recent statement, making it clear that his decision was final.

Nguna further disclosed that his decision to sign on to the impeachment motion was made after careful consideration of the country's political climate and the performance of Gachagua. He stated that he had aligned himself with the motion long before any efforts to shift the political tides could affect his stance, and that he was doing so in the best interests of the people he represents.
"People of Mwingi West expect their leaders to stand for accountability and integrity in government," Nguna explained. "I made my decision before any ‘party wiper’ could attempt to influence me, and I am standing by it. We need leadership that is focused on delivering for the people and not engaging in divisive politics."

Nguna's declaration comes amidst heightened political drama as various members of Parliament are being lobbied to either support or oppose the motion to impeach Gachagua. His firm stance is a clear indication that the motion, which has been a source of heated debate, could further divide the country's political landscape.

As the impeachment vote approaches, Nguna's resolve will likely solidify his position as a key player in the ongoing political dynamics. Regardless of the outcome, his unwavering stance underscores a broader push for accountability and political integrity in Kenya.
