Ngao Credit Opens Four New Branches in Embu, Malindi, Kitale and Machakos to Expand Access to Financing

Ngao Credit has expanded its presence across Kenya with the opening of four new satellite branches in Embu, Malindi, Kitale and Machakos, in a move aimed at bringing financial services closer to businesses, farmers, traders and salaried professionals.

The expansion, implemented under the lender’s Ngao Mtaani initiative, seeks to improve access to credit by reducing the distance customers travel to obtain financing and other financial services. The new branches will offer various financing solutions, including local financing, asset financing and import finance, including import duty financing.

Ngao Credit Country Sales Agency Manager Francis Mwangi said the expansion was driven by growing demand from customers in the four regions, noting that the lender is committed to making financing more accessible, particularly to underserved communities and businesses that may face challenges accessing credit from traditional financial institutions.

Mwangi explained that each location presents unique economic opportunities. Embu's agricultural and agribusiness sector, Malindi's tourism, trade and blue economy, Kitale's agricultural and commercial activities, and Machakos' growing business environment offer significant opportunities for financing.

He said the lender's goal is to support businesses with working capital, asset acquisition and other financial solutions that enable them to expand operations and take advantage of emerging market opportunities.

According to Mwangi, approximately 70 per cent of Ngao Credit's KSh1.3 billion loan portfolio comes through customer referrals, demonstrating the confidence and long-term relationships the lender has built with its clients.

The company is also strengthening its digital services through the Ngao app, which allows customers to access credit remotely, complementing its growing network of physical branches.

The combination of digital platforms and regional offices is expected to improve customer convenience, from loan applications and onboarding to disbursement and ongoing customer support.

Mwangi emphasised that Ngao Credit is focused on building lasting partnerships with customers rather than treating lending as a one-off transaction, adding that the lender wants to play a meaningful role in business growth and improved livelihoods.

The four new branches mark another milestone in the company's domestic expansion strategy, with Ngao Credit indicating that it plans to strengthen its presence across Kenya before exploring opportunities beyond the country's borders.
