Mwala Mp Vincent Kawaya Welcomes Ruto to Mwala as President Commissions Sh1.7 Billion Water Project
Mwala MP Vincent Kawaya has welcomed President William Ruto to Mwala Constituency, where the Head of State kicked off his development tour of Ukambani by commissioning the Mwala Cluster Water Project.
Kawaya said the project would address perennial water shortages in Mbiuni, Mwala and Masii wards, providing thousands of households with access to clean and reliable water.
The President also addressed wananchi at Mbiuni Market, where he highlighted his administration’s development agenda and criticised opposition leaders for what he described as a lack of clear plans and alternative proposals for the country.
Kawaya expressed gratitude to President Ruto for prioritising development projects in Mwala and the wider Ukambani region, citing the Kivandini–Maseleleni Road upgrade to bitumen standards, the Mwala Cluster Water Project and the Mbiuni Sports Academy.
The MP also praised the government’s reforms in healthcare and higher education, saying the Social Health Authority (SHA) was aimed at expanding access to affordable healthcare, while changes to the university funding model sought to promote fairness in access to higher education. He maintained that the projects and reforms would contribute to improved service delivery and better opportunities for residents.
