Caleb Amisi Calls for Urgent Electoral Reforms Ahead of 2027 General Election

 People’s Renaissance Movement (PM Party) in party leader Caleb Amisi has called for urgent electoral reforms to safeguard Kenya’s democracy and ensure the integrity of the 2027 General Election, urging Parliament to address gaps in the Elections Act before the country heads to the polls.

Speaking on behalf of the People’s Coalition on Electoral Reforms, Amisi emphasised the need for bold, transparent and enforceable measures to strengthen the electoral process and protect every Kenyan’s constitutional right to vote. He warned that the country’s democratic future should not be left to chance, stressing the importance of addressing electoral challenges early enough to promote credible and transparent elections.

Amisi called on Parliament to urgently review and close loopholes in the Elections Act, arguing that effective legal safeguards are essential to building public confidence in the electoral process. He said Kenya needs a democratic renaissance anchored on electoral integrity, accountability and the protection of citizens’ voting rights as preparations for the 2027 General Election gather momentum.
