Victoria Mwaura Wins Sh500,000 Pitch Arena Prize at Women in STEM Africa Summit

 Victoria Mwaura, CEO and Co-Founder of ProVision Sight Africa, has emerged as the winner of the Pitch Arena at the Women in STEM Africa Summit 2026, taking home a cash prize of Sh500,000.

Mwaura was recognised for developing innovative smart glasses designed to support visually impaired people with real-time audio navigation.

Her solution seeks to make assistive technology more accessible by providing an affordable alternative to existing global technologies, while addressing the unique needs and realities of African users.

ProVision Sight Africa has already attracted significant interest, with the innovation recording more than 100 pre-orders and receiving recognition from the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB).
Her victory highlights the growing role of African innovators in developing locally relevant solutions to challenges affecting communities across the continent.

The Pitch Arena brought together promising founders and innovators to showcase their solutions, connect with opportunities and demonstrate how technology can drive meaningful social and economic impact.

Mwaura’s win underscores the potential of women-led innovation to transform lives while creating solutions tailored to African realities.
