Kisumu County has officially launched its approved County Trade Departmental Policies in a move aimed at strengthening trade development and creating a more enabling environment for businesses across the county.
Speaking during the launch Kisumu Deputy Governor Matthew Owili said the new policies provide a clear framework for improving the delivery of trade services while supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), promoting investment and enhancing market access.
Owili said the County Government remains committed to creating a business-friendly environment where entrepreneurs can grow, create employment and contribute to Kisumu’s economic development.
He commended the Department of Trade, technical teams and stakeholders for their consultations and dedication in developing and securing approval of the policies, noting that stronger collaboration between the county government and the business community will be key to building a more inclusive and prosperous trade sector.
