KISE GOES NATIONWIDE TO IDENTIFY GAPS AND STRENGTHEN DISABILITY INCLUSION

The Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) has launched a nationwide needs assessment aimed at strengthening inclusive education and disability services across the country. The exercise seeks to establish the challenges facing learners with disabilities and identify areas requiring greater support.

The assessment will map existing gaps and emerging needs across communities and institutions, providing evidence to guide targeted interventions, resource allocation and improved support services. KISE says the exercise is designed to ensure that decisions on disability inclusion are informed by the realities experienced on the ground.

By taking the assessment directly to communities and institutions, KISE is seeking practical solutions that can make inclusive education more responsive and impactful. The initiative reinforces the commitment to ensuring no child is left behind and that learners with disabilities have access to the support and opportunities they need to thrive.
