Incoming Nairobi Governor Mbangula Joins Nairobi Bishops, National Treasury in Push for Stronger Church-Government Partnership

 Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Hon. Patrick Musili Mbangula, MBS, has joined Principal Secretary Dr. Boniface Makoha of the National Treasury’s Economic Planning Department in a meeting with more than 30 bishops from across Nairobi.

The meeting focused on strengthening partnerships between the church and government, supporting vulnerable families and deepening engagement between government institutions and religious leaders.

Mbangula said the discussions also provided an opportunity for the bishops to pray for the nation and reflect on ways the church can work with government to address challenges affecting communities across Nairobi.

The incoming Nairobi governor hopeful emphasised the importance of sustained engagement with religious leaders, noting the church’s role in supporting vulnerable families and promoting social welfare within communities.

The meeting comes as Mbangula continues to engage stakeholders across the capital ahead of the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial race, where he is seeking to advance an agenda centred on accountable leadership, improved service delivery and inclusive development.
