BASIL HAILS TENTH ‘UKOMBOZI’ MILESTONE AS NEW ROAD OPENS UP YATTA

Yatta MP Robert Basil has hailed the completion of a long-awaited road project linking communities in Matuu, Ikombe and Katangi, describing the development as a major milestone in the constituency’s history.

Basil said the project, delivered with the support of President William Samoei Ruto, marks the tenth “Ukombozi” milestone achieved since he was elected on August 9, 2022. He said the road goes beyond improving transport, noting that it will open up communities, connect residents and create opportunities for generations to come.

“63 years after Kenya attained Internal Self-Rule, I am proud to have written a new chapter in Yatta’s history,” Basil said, expressing gratitude to President Ruto for supporting the project.

According to Basil, the road represents the broader meaning of “Ukombozi” — unlocking development and improving connectivity for residents across Yatta.
