Kenya Youth Organization President Jennifer Wairimu Calls for Justice and National Unity Following Cecil Ouma's Death
Kenya Youth Organization (KYO) President Jennifer Wairimu has called for a thorough, independent, and transparent investigation into the death of Cecil Ouma, urging authorities to ensure justice is served and the rule of law upheld.
In an official statement issued on behalf of the organization, Wairimu expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, friends, and all Kenyans mourning Ouma's untimely passing. She described the loss as tragic and appealed for calm as investigations continue.
Jennifer Wairimu emphasized that the circumstances surrounding the incident must be established through an impartial and expeditious investigation, with anyone found responsible held accountable in accordance with the law.
She acknowledged that Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs and other individuals reportedly present at the time of the incident had recorded statements with investigators, welcoming their commitment to cooperate fully with the ongoing probe.
The KYO President urged young people and the public to remain peaceful, avoid speculation, and allow investigative agencies to carry out their work independently.
Wairimu also called on leaders and institutions to show compassion and solidarity with the bereaved family, saying such gestures are essential in promoting public confidence and national healing.
She further appealed to state institutions, civil society, and all Kenyans to uphold justice, respect for human life, peace, and unity while rejecting political violence and abuse of power.
