Incoming Kisumu Governor Hon. Matthew Owili Launches Countywide Mass Voter and National ID Registration Drive






Incoming Kisumu Governor  Hon. Matthew Owili has officially launched a countywide Mass Voter and National ID Registration Campaign in Seme, marking the beginning of an intensive grassroots mobilization drive aimed at increasing voter registration and civic participation across the county.

Speaking during the launch in Kombewa, Hon. Owili urged all eligible residents of Kisumu County to take advantage of the exercise by acquiring National Identity Cards and registering as voters, emphasizing that active participation is key to strengthening democracy and shaping the county's future.
The campaign seeks to enhance electoral participation by ensuring more eligible citizens are documented and included in the voters' register ahead of future elections.

Hon. Owili was joined by Seme MP Hon. James Nyikal, MCAs Seth Okumu, George Abaja, Mildred Ajumbo, and Millicent Omuya, alongside other leaders and stakeholders, who reaffirmed their commitment to civic education and grassroots mobilization.

The leaders encouraged residents to embrace the registration exercise, noting that obtaining a National ID and registering as a voter are fundamental civic responsibilities that empower citizens to participate in decision-making and influence the county's development agenda.

Hon. Owili said the campaign will be rolled out across all parts of Kisumu County to ensure every eligible resident has the opportunity to register and take part in the democratic process.
