Incoming Isiolo North MP Mwenda Thuranira Pledges to Unlock Isiolo's Economic Potential Through Visionary Leadership

Incoming Isiolo North parliamentary Mwenda Thuranira has pledged to champion transformative leadership aimed at unlocking Isiolo's vast economic potential and positioning the county as a key investment and business hub.

Speaking after meeting Hussein Maharusi and Hussein Hilal of the Isiolo Chamber of Commerce, Thuranira said the county has immense opportunities that have remained underutilized despite being identified under Kenya's Vision 2030 as a future economic hub.

He noted that years of poor leadership and missed opportunities had slowed the county's growth, stressing that Isiolo requires visionary and accountable leadership to fully realize its potential.

Thuranira emphasized the critical role of the private sector in driving economic development, saying businesses are the backbone of job creation, investment and wealth generation. He called on government to create an enabling environment through improved infrastructure, enhanced security and investor-friendly policies that support enterprise growth.

The parliamentary hopeful said he will continue engaging stakeholders across the county to develop practical solutions that promote unity, attract investment and stimulate sustainable economic growth.

According to Thuranira, Isiolo has all the ingredients needed to succeed, including its strategic location and entrepreneurial population, but requires leaders with the vision and determination to turn opportunities into tangible development.

He reaffirmed his commitment to restoring effective leadership and building an inclusive economy that delivers jobs, prosperity and improved livelihoods for all residents of Isiolo North.
