Incoming Nairobi Women Representative Hon Florence Kilasi Champions Community Health as She Meets Health Promoters in Makadara
Incoming Nairobi Women Representative Hon Florence Kilasi has reaffirmed her commitment to improving healthcare services in Nairobi after holding a consultative meeting with Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in Makadara Constituency.
The meeting brought together grassroots health workers who play a critical role in delivering essential healthcare services and health education within local communities. During the engagement, Kilasi listened to the challenges facing community health promoters and discussed practical solutions aimed at strengthening primary healthcare delivery.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon Florence Kilasi emphasized the importance of investing in preventive healthcare and empowering community health promoters, describing them as the backbone of the country's healthcare system.
She noted that community health promoters are instrumental in creating awareness on disease prevention, maternal and child health, nutrition, sanitation, and other public health concerns that directly impact families.
Kilasi pledged to continue advocating for policies and programs that improve access to quality healthcare services, particularly for vulnerable populations in Nairobi. She also underscored the need for increased support, training, and resources for community health promoters to enable them to carry out their duties effectively.
The incoming Nairobi Women Representative said her leadership agenda places health issues at the forefront, noting that a healthy population is key to social and economic development. She encouraged residents to embrace preventive healthcare measures and work closely with health promoters to improve community well-being.
The meeting forms part of Kilasi's ongoing engagements across Nairobi aimed at understanding residents' needs and advancing people-centered solutions in critical sectors, including health, education, and economic empowerment.
