Incoming Nairobi Women Representative aspirant Florence Kilasi has intensified her grassroots engagements after meeting community leaders from Ruaraka to discuss leadership, community empowerment, and development priorities ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The consultative meeting brought together local leaders, residents, and stakeholders who exchanged views on the challenges facing communities and explored practical solutions aimed at improving livelihoods and expanding economic opportunities.
Speaking during the meeting, Kilasi emphasized the importance of servant leadership, inclusivity, and community-driven development, noting that sustainable progress can only be achieved when leaders actively engage citizens and listen to their concerns.
She highlighted the need for empowerment programs targeting women, youth, and vulnerable groups, saying such initiatives are critical in promoting economic independence, entrepreneurship, and social transformation.
Kilasi reiterated her commitment to championing projects that create opportunities for women and young people, strengthen community participation in decision-making, and support education, skills development, and job creation.
The aspiring Nairobi Women Representative said leadership should be focused on delivering tangible results, uplifting communities, and ensuring that no one is left behind in the development agenda.
Community leaders welcomed the engagement, describing it as an important platform for dialogue and partnership. They expressed optimism that continued consultations would help address key issues affecting residents while promoting unity and collective progress.
The meeting forms part of Kilasi's ongoing outreach efforts across various communities as she seeks to build a people-centered leadership agenda anchored on empowerment, accountability, and inclusive development ahead of the 2027 Nairobi Women Representative race.
