Harambee DT SACCO Chairman Macloud Malonza Elected ICA-Africa Chairperson

Harambee DT SACCO has congratulated its Chairman, Macloud Malonza, following his election as the Chairperson of the International Cooperative Alliance Africa (ICA-Africa), describing the achievement as a major milestone for both the institution and Kenya’s cooperative movement.
In a statement, the Board of Directors, Management and Staff of Harambee DT SACCO said Malonza’s election to the prestigious continental position reflects the confidence that cooperative leaders across Africa have placed in his leadership and vision.
The SACCO noted that the appointment also demonstrates the growing influence and recognition of Kenya’s cooperative sector on the African continent.
“His election to this prestigious position not only reflects confidence in his leadership but also underscores the growing influence of Kenya's cooperative movement on the continental stage,” the statement said.
As Chairperson of ICA-Africa, Malonza will provide leadership to the organization that represents cooperative movements across the continent, promoting collaboration, innovation and sustainable development among cooperatives.
Harambee DT SACCO described the election as a proud moment for the institution, saying Malonza’s leadership has continued to strengthen the SACCO while advancing the values of the cooperative movement.
The institution expressed confidence that his experience and commitment to the cooperative sector will contribute significantly to the growth and development of cooperatives across Africa.
The Board, management and staff congratulated Malonza on the achievement and wished him success as he assumes his new continental leadership role.
The election is expected to further elevate Kenya’s position as a leading force in Africa’s cooperative movement and strengthen collaboration among cooperative organizations across the region.
