Dr. Sonvir Singh, President of Rajasthan Foundation Nairobi (Kenya) Chapter, Leads Efforts to Strengthen Global Ties and Social Development Initiatives

Dr. Sonvir Singh, President of the Rajasthan Foundation Nairobi (Kenya) Chapter, has intensified efforts to strengthen ties between Rajasthan and the global Rajasthani diaspora through high-level engagements with senior officials of the Government of Rajasthan aimed at advancing social development and community initiatives.

During his recent visit to India, Dr. Singh held a courtesy meeting with Dr. Manisha Arora, IAS, Commissioner of the Rajasthan Foundation, along with members of the Foundation’s leadership team. The discussions focused on strengthening the Rajasthan Foundation Nairobi Chapter and enhancing engagement with the Rajasthani community in Kenya.

The meeting explored opportunities to promote cultural, economic, educational, and social cooperation between Rajasthan and East Africa while deepening the relationship between the state government and the diaspora community.
Dr. Singh also met Shri Shikhar Agrawal, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary of the Government of Rajasthan, where discussions centered on expanding the chapter’s activities and advancing major social development projects in Bharatpur.

Among the key proposals discussed was the establishment of a charitable hospital-cum-medical college and a youth skill development centre in Bharatpur. The proposed institutions aim to improve healthcare services, expand medical education opportunities, and equip young people with skills necessary for employment and entrepreneurship.

According to Dr. Singh, the initiative follows earlier discussions with Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma regarding the allocation of 10 acres of land in Bharatpur for the ambitious project.

He said the proposed development would create long-term benefits for local communities by providing quality healthcare, professional training, and educational opportunities.

Dr. Singh expressed appreciation to the Rajasthan government officials for their guidance, support, and warm hospitality, noting that their commitment to inclusive development and public service continues to inspire the global Rajasthani community.

“As President of the Rajasthan Foundation Nairobi Chapter, I remain committed to working closely with the Government of Rajasthan, Rajasthan Foundation, and all stakeholders to transform these initiatives into meaningful realities that strengthen the bond between Rajasthan and the global Rajasthani community,” Dr. Singh said.

He added that the chapter will continue supporting initiatives that promote healthcare, education, youth empowerment, and social development while strengthening the historic ties between Rajasthan and the diaspora community in East Africa.
