Wanja Nyarari Applauds PEU Commandant Noah Maiyo for Exceptional Leadership During France Summit
As Kenya concluded hosting the France Summit, Wanja Nyarari has praised Presidential Escort Unit (PEU) Commandant AIG Noah Maiyo and the entire unit for their professionalism, discipline, and dedication in ensuring the success of the high-profile international event.
In her remarks, Wanja said many people often focus on the visible diplomatic moments such as handshakes, meetings, and historic engagements, but rarely appreciate the immense responsibility carried by the officers tasked with coordinating the President’s security movements and protecting visiting Heads of State.
She noted that the Presidential Escort Unit serves as a critical link between the Presidency and all security agencies involved in state functions, requiring constant vigilance, wisdom, and precision. According to her, the role goes beyond physical presence and demands sound judgment and seamless coordination at every stage.
“The President depends on this level of leadership to ensure that every visiting Head of State and distinguished guest is safe, comfortable, and protected at every moment,” Wanja stated.
She further explained that a strong Presidential Escort team must continuously assess security situations, ensure smooth movement coordination, and maintain professionalism even during spontaneous public interactions involving the Head of State.
Wanja highlighted that moments where a President pauses to greet or acknowledge citizens require quick thinking and maturity from the escort team to balance both dignity and security without causing disruption.
Describing the unit’s work as “quiet excellence,” she said the professionalism displayed by Commandant Noah Maiyo and his officers continues to elevate Kenya’s reputation on the global stage.
She concluded by calling on Team GS and Kenyans at large to appreciate and celebrate the PEU team for serving the nation with honour, professionalism, and distinction during the France Summit.
