Rose Wanja to Co-Host Westlands Madaraka Day Celebrations at Kangemi Primary School
Westlands Sub-County is set to mark this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations in a grand style, with Rose Wanja taking a central role as co-host during the event scheduled for June 1, 2026, at Kangemi Primary School.
The celebrations, which will begin at 8:00 a.m., are expected to bring together residents, government officials, and service agencies in a day dedicated to commemorating Kenya’s freedom, unity, and progress. The event will be graced by the Deputy County Commissioner as the guest of honor, underscoring the significance of the national celebration within the Westlands community.
Rose Wanja’s involvement as co-host highlights her growing role in community engagement and public service initiatives within the sub-county. Her participation is expected to add momentum to efforts aimed at bringing government services closer to wananchi while promoting unity and patriotism during the national holiday.
Beyond the celebrations, the Madaraka Day event will also serve as a one-stop center for essential government services. Residents attending the gathering at Kangemi Primary School will have access to a range of public services, including assistance from the Transport Licensing Appeal Board (TLAB) for delayed licensing matters, Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) services provided by the National Police Service, title deed-related services under the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, and registration and member verification services by the Social Health Authority (SHA).
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to ensure government services remain accessible to citizens at the grassroots level while using national celebrations as an opportunity to strengthen community ties.
As Kenyans celebrate Madaraka Day under the spirit of patriotism and national pride, all eyes in Westlands will be on Kangemi Primary School, where Rose Wanja and the Deputy County Commissioner are expected to lead residents in honoring the country’s journey toward freedom, unity, and development under the theme of bringing services closer to the people.
