Mwala MP Vincent Kawaya Offers Scholarship Support to Mercy Kagendo After Emotional Citizen TV Story




Vincent Kawaya has pledged to support the education of Mercy Kagendo after her emotional story aired on Citizen TV, giving the young girl renewed hope of achieving her dreams.


In remarks shared today, the Mwala lawmaker said Mercy would now be able to join the school she has always dreamed of attending and continue pursuing her ambitions without interruption.

Kawaya revealed that he had already reached out to Mercy’s mother, Sarah Mwikali, assuring the family of his full support towards the student’s education.

The MP also commended Citizen TV and reporter Francis Mtalaki for highlighting Mercy’s plight and bringing national attention to the matter.
He noted that the media plays a critical role in amplifying the struggles of vulnerable families and connecting them with well-wishers willing to make a difference.

Mercy’s story touched many Kenyans after details of her academic ambitions and financial challenges were aired, sparking calls for support from leaders and members of the public.
