Albury Institute Chairperson Rossie Wanja Calls for Calm, Verified Information Following Utumishi Girls Academy Fire Incident

Albury Institute Chairperson Rossie Wanja  has expressed concern and sympathy following the reported fire incident at Utumishi Girls Academy, urging the public and media to allow authorities to communicate verified information as investigations and emergency response efforts continue.

In a statement issued on behalf of Albury Institute, Wanja Nyarari said the institution stands in solidarity with the education fraternity, students, parents, and the nation during what she described as a painful moment for the education sector.

She emphasized the importance of patience and responsible communication, noting that sensitive reports surrounding the incident, including claims of possible fatalities, should only be confirmed through official channels to avoid causing

 additional pain and distress to affected families.

“As information continues to emerge, it is important to allow the school administration and relevant authorities to officially communicate verified details regarding the situation,” the statement read.

Wanja Nyarari further urged the public and media to exercise restraint and responsibility in sharing information while emergency response and accountability efforts remain ongoing.

She extended her thoughts and prayers to students, parents, teachers, and all those affected by the tragedy, expressing hope for healing, comfort, and strength for everyone impacted.
