Speaking during bursary disbursement Makau emphasized that the journey to reclaim the county’s lost glory is now unstoppable, noting that Machakos residents deserve leadership that prioritizes service delivery and prudent use of public resources.

“The journey to redeem our great county of Machakos is unstoppable,” he declared. “Leadership is not about comfort—it is about responsibility. Those in office must not fear accountability because wananchi deserve value for every coin spent.”

Makau criticized what he described as a culture of complacency in leadership, arguing that true governance must be anchored on openness, inclusivity, and measurable development outcomes. He insisted that his administration, once elected, will focus on restoring public trust by ensuring transparency in county operations and prioritizing projects that directly impact residents.

He  further pledged to empower youth and women, improve infrastructure, and enhance service delivery across key sectors such as health, agriculture, and education. He reiterated that his vision is driven by the needs of the people and a commitment to equitable development across all wards.

As political momentum builds, Makau’s message appears to be resonating with a growing number of residents eager for change. With calls for accountability taking center stage, Machakos County is shaping up for a competitive and issue-driven gubernatorial race.
