Kawaya: UDA Unstoppable in Ukambani as Party Intensifies Grassroots Takeover

By Irene Mwende

Mwala MP Vincent Kawaya has declared that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is gaining significant momentum in the Ukambani region, signaling a major political shift driven by grassroots mobilization.

Speaking during an engagement with UDA grassroots coordinators from Masinga Constituency at Kikumini, Kawaya said the party is witnessing growing support from residents who are eager for a new political direction. The meeting, hosted by Joshua Mwalyo, brought together local leaders and mobilizers in what he described as a high-energy and impactful session.
Kawaya, who serves as UDA’s National Organizing Secretary, emphasized that the party is not merely organizing but actively building a strong grassroots network across the region. He noted that UDA’s approach focuses on structured engagement at the ward and village levels, aimed at establishing a formidable political presence.

According to the MP, the response from the ground indicates that many residents are ready to move away from what he termed as years of unfulfilled promises and recycled leadership. He said the people are increasingly becoming organized and determined to reclaim their voice in shaping the region’s leadership.

He reiterated that UDA’s agenda is centered on real empowerment, accountability, and development, distinguishing it from what he described as empty political rhetoric.
Kawaya further revealed that the party is preparing to conduct transparent and credible grassroots elections, which he said will reflect the true will of the people and strengthen internal democracy.

With ongoing mobilization and consolidation efforts, UDA leaders believe the political landscape in Ukambani is rapidly evolving, with the party positioning itself at the forefront of the region’s transformation.
