Incoming Makûenî women Representative Damaris Maweu Joins President Ruto at State House as Over 5,000 Women Gather for Empowerment Forum


Incoming Makueni County Woman Representative Hon. Damaris Maweu today joined fellow leaders at State House in Nairobi for a high-level engagement hosted by President William Ruto, bringing together thousands of women leaders from across the country.

The meeting, which attracted over 5,000 members of the Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization, served as a platform to reaffirm the government’s commitment to advancing women’s empowerment at the grassroots level. President Ruto emphasized the critical role women play in driving socio-economic development and shaping the country’s future.

Hon. Maweu, who continues to gain prominence in Makueni’s leadership landscape, took part in discussions centered on inclusive leadership, economic empowerment, and community-driven initiatives aimed at uplifting women and vulnerable groups.

The engagement highlighted the importance of strengthening women-led networks and enhancing access to opportunities that promote self-reliance and sustainable development.
