Hon.Siyat Osman Urges Calm, Unity as He Warns Against Politicizing Kamba–Somali Tensions

Hon. Siyat Osman has called for calm and unity between the Kamba community and the Somali community, urging leaders and residents to reject attempts to exploit recent tensions for political gain.

Speaking during a public address, the ambassador emphasized the long-standing coexistence and mutual respect shared by the two communities, noting that isolated incidents should not be used to fuel division. He strongly condemned individuals and groups who are politicizing the situation, warning that such actions risk undermining peace and stability.

Siyat Osman urged local leaders, youth, and stakeholders to prioritize dialogue and understanding, stressing that unity remains the foundation for development and security. He also called on authorities to ensure justice is served fairly while maintaining harmony among residents.
“Let us not allow politics to divide us. Our strength lies in our unity and shared future,” he stated.
His remarks come amid growing concern over rising rhetoric that threatens to strain relations, with leaders now being urged to promote cohesion and peaceful coexistence across communities.
