Makueni County — Women Representative aspirant Damaris Maweu has reaffirmed her commitment to youth empowerment and talent development after gracing the fifth edition of the Musoma Cup 2026 as Chief Guest. The lively grassroots tournament took place over the weekend at St. John’s Malivani Primary School, drawing enthusiastic participation from young people across the region.

Addressing players, fans, and community members, Maweu underscored the vital role of sports in shaping the future of young people. She noted that beyond recreation, sports serve as a powerful tool for nurturing talent, instilling discipline, and opening pathways to economic and social opportunities.

“As a woman leader and aspirant for the Makueni County Women Representative seat in 2027, I strongly believe in empowering our youth by supporting platforms that showcase their talents and potential,” she said.

The Musoma Cup, now in its fifth edition, has steadily grown into one of Makueni’s most influential community tournaments. It brings together teams from different parts of the county, fostering unity, healthy competition, and social cohesion among the youth.
