Connected Africa Summit 2026 is set to take center stage in Nairobi from April 27 to April 30, bringing together policymakers, innovators, and technology leaders from across the continent in a major push to accelerate Africa’s digital transformation.

Hosted at The Edge Convention Centre and organized by the ICT Authority of Kenya, the four-day summit is expected to be the most senior gathering focused on Africa’s digital economy this year. It will run daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, attracting high-level delegates from government, private sector, academia, and development organizations.

Held under the theme “Uniting Africa’s Innovation for an Inclusive Digital Market,” the summit builds on momentum from previous editions, shifting focus toward measurable delivery and real impact. Discussions will center on key areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Digital Public Infrastructure, and cybersecurity, alongside emerging priorities like fintech, digital identity, cloud computing, data governance, and smart infrastructure.
Speaking during a press briefing at Serena Hotel, William Kabogo emphasized the need for tangible outcomes, noting that Africa must move from vision to execution in its digital journey.
Jessy Maruti highlighted the importance of unifying innovation across the continent to unlock opportunities for young people, enabling them to access skills, investments, and markets in the digital economy.

The summit will also mark the launch of the Connected Africa Secretariat, a major milestone aimed at ensuring continuity, accountability, and long-term collaboration in advancing a unified digital ecosystem across Africa.

Private sector players including Safaricom and Huawei Technologies Kenya have pledged support, underscoring the importance of partnerships in strengthening connectivity and building digital talent across the continent.

With participation expected from ministers and senior officials from countries including Ethiopia, Uganda, Malawi, Gabon, Guinea, Chad, and Zimbabwe, the summit is poised to shape policy direction, foster cross-border collaboration, and accelerate Africa’s journey toward a competitive and inclusive digital economy.
