Government Engages Kirinyaga Residents in Town Hall Meeting Led by Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura

In a bid to enhance transparency and foster greater public participation in the development agenda, the Kenyan government, led by Spokesman Isaac Mwaura and other senior officials, held an interactive town hall meeting with Kirinyaga County residents today. The meeting, which took place at the Kirinyaga County Hall, aimed to sensitize the public on ongoing and upcoming government projects and to provide a platform for direct engagement between the government and the people.

The town hall was part of a broader initiative to ensure that citizens are well-informed about the various development projects being implemented across the country and to give them a chance to contribute to discussions that impact their daily lives. This open forum approach is designed to strengthen the government’s accountability and responsiveness to the needs and concerns of its citizens.
During the event, Spokesman Isaac Mwaura outlined a number of key initiatives aimed at driving development in Kirinyaga and other counties. These included programs focused on youth employment, infrastructure development, and healthcare reforms. Mwaura emphasized that the government is committed to fostering inclusive growth by ensuring that no citizen is left behind in the country's progress.

“We are here to ensure that the people of Kirinyaga have a clear understanding of the government’s efforts to improve livelihoods and that they have an opportunity to voice their concerns directly. This is about creating a two-way communication channel between the government and the people,” Mwaura stated.

Residents were given the opportunity to ask questions and raise various issues, with the most pressing concerns centered around support for agriculture, education access, and healthcare improvements. Government officials responded to each concern, detailing plans and providing updates on current projects aimed at addressing these challenges.

Agriculture was a significant topic of discussion, with many residents seeking clarity on the government’s strategies to support farmers and improve productivity in the region. Education access and youth employment were also prominent concerns, with attendees keen to understand how the government plans to create more opportunities for young people in Kirinyaga.

In response, the government representatives assured residents that substantial efforts are being made to address these challenges. They outlined ongoing initiatives aimed at providing technical training for young people, expanding infrastructure, and improving healthcare services in the region.

The town hall meeting is part of a larger government effort to promote transparency and inclusivity. Through these forums, the government seeks to directly engage with citizens, ensuring that their voices are heard and that they have a better understanding of the national development agenda. Nine private security companies revoked operating licenses to carry on with their services

By Irene Mwende The nine private security companies that thier licenses were terminated by the private security Regulatory Authority ( PSR) Director General Fazul Mohamed can now freely carry on with their services. Addressing the media on behalf of Umbrella association of private security Secretary General PROSAK Delano Kiilu noted they had promised an update on the taking rogue by the horns using the PSRA Act of 2016.
